Welcome to the Peer Partnership - the peer support experts
We’re peer support experts and offer training, consultancy and service delivery for all kinds of peer support programmes. As well as peer support, we’re experts in co-design and co-production, and can deliver services designed with clinical professionals for a range of long-term health conditions.
You know, as we do, the value of peer-support as part of care for long-term health conditions or experiences – it’s a win-win for everyone involved.
You also know, as we do, that managing peer-support, be it groups or a 1:1 service, and supporting volunteers, has its challenges. People are messy; it’s part of being human.
We know this because we’ve being running peer support services for over ten years – we’re peer support experts.
Our mission at The Peer Partnership is to help you learn by our wins, mistakes (we’ve made and overcome them all), expertise and experience, so that your peer support programme is as effective as possible for your service users.
Get in touch and we can discuss what we can do together.
If you already operate a peer support programme, we host training workshops to help you explore solutions to common challenges, meet other peer support workers in our Peer Coordinator Forum, explore the needs and motivations of service users, and much more.
We work with clinical professionals in a locality to provide peer support services for long-term health conditions. We provide the proposal, plan, service and paperwork, leaving you with a legacy product that you can continue to provide. Explore our previous projects for Long Covid and type 2 Diabetes.
If you’re completely new to peer-support services, we can help you to unpick and understand the needs and expectations of your organisation and your service users, providing a full plan of service delivery that includes scoping, focus group research, co-design, training of staff and volunteers and provision of documentation. If that’s too much or not quite right, mix and match from our range of support options.
What is peer support anyway?
Being heard by people who understand what you’re experiencing because they have experienced it too can be transformative. When you hear information from someone who has or is living a similar experience to yours, that information becomes enhanced by experience. This adds to the information that you have heard before.
Supporting others who are new to the journey you’ve been experiencing is powerful.
When it is at its best, peer support is a win-win for everyone.
Our experience in providing peer support for people living with HIV, type 2 diabetes and long COVID is replicable and scalable for virtually all long-term health conditions and protected characteristic experiences.
We work with people in health and social care, the voluntary and charity sector, education, private sector, justice, and more.
We work with organisations at all levels – grassroots, local, regional and national. Our understanding of the health and social care systems and VCSE sectors complement our expertise in peer support and engagement.
